James B. Driscoll, Managing Partner

Prior to co-founding Gateway Healthcare Professionals in 2012, James served as an Administrative Director for Bon Secours Virginia Health System where he was responsible for the executive management of the Human Resources department for St. Mary’s Hospital and led strategic planning initiatives for the ambulatory care business lines. The decade prior to that, James managed teams of human resources and information technology professionals for Philip Morris International and has over 18 years of experience in the fields of Human Resources, Information Systems and Corporate Governance. Since its inception in 2012, James has led business development and executive management for Gateway. James is active in his community, serving as Treasurer of the St. John’s Church Foundation; Board Member of St. Stephen’s Preschool, Mentor for the Anna Julia Cooper School post-graduate program, Secretary of Richmond Little League, and coach of multiple youth sports teams for his two sons. James holds a Business Administration degree from James Madison University. 

J. Scott Fisher, Managing Partner

Scott has 20 years of experience in the fields of accounting and finance.  Prior to starting Gateway Healthcare professionals in 2012, Scott was a consultant for numerous national and global companies, including 5 years in public accounting for Ernst & Young and Keiter, LLC providingaudit, tax and advisory services for various corporations, trusts and partnerships.  Scott’s client base included healthcare, construction and not-for-profit agencies. He joined Swedish Match North America and Vaco Richmond, where he served 10 years as a senior account executive. He has extensive experience in cash management, budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation and control and has led the accounting and operation functions for Gateway since its inception.  Scott is a youth sports coach, a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association, active in Junior Achievement and the March of Dimes.  

Donna Hayes, Director of Human Resources

Donna has over 10 years of recruiting experience and 17 years of experience as an HR Specialist.  Prior to joining Gateway Donna spent 12 years as an Office Manager with an Alternative Asset Management Company. In addition to recruiting, Donna is responsible for all payroll functions including the preparation of relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.  Donna is directly responsible for all of the invoicing and billing as it relates to Gateway’s clients and handles transacting duties that involve employee’s benefits including medical, dental and 401(k). Donna is heavily involved in the special needs community.  She currently serves on the Board for We Heart Harlie and Friends and just finished her term on the Executive Board for Jacob's Chance.

Danielle Smith, Director of Talent Acquisition and National Account Management

Danielle Smith brings over 15 years of professional experience in the realms of contracting, project management, account management, and talent acquisition management working in the financial, construction, education and healthcare sectors.   Shortly after receiving her Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Danielle joined the Gateway team where she currently serves as Talent Acquisition and Account Manager.    Engaging in all levels of management, Danielle works diligently to secure top talent for contract, direct hire and travel placement assignments, in the forms of executive leadership, clinicians, and administrative personnel.  She works diligently to foster long-lasting relationships with her clients, and her customized, personal approach has a proven track record of recognition and success for program development, executive management, and full-cycle procurement of healthcare professionals.  Danielle is an active member in her community and takes pride in volunteering and supporting local charitable organizations.

Cheryl Pretlow, Director of Talent Acquisition & Government Solutions

Cheryl has 17 years of experience in project management and recruitment in Healthcare, Human Resources and Information Technology industries. Prior to joining Gateway Health Care Professionals Cheryl served as an expert Project Manager for numerous federal and state contracts, including the Department of Justice, the Department of Labor and the Department of Commerce. Currently she serves as Talent Acquisition Manager, Project Manager and Account Manager. She is responsible for the successful onboarding of temporary contractors for our federal, local and travel customers. Her commitment to our clients and her candidates is her passion.  Cheryl supports local nonprofit foundations such as Speak Up, Susan B Coleman Race for the Cure, and JDRF to name a few.
